New Providence

As the nation’s most populated island and home to its capital city Nassau, New Providence has grown from a quiet port of 8,000 inhabitants in 1844 to a bustling city. As the political capital and commercial hub of The Bahamas, New Providence is also home to over 400 banks and trust companies while its hotels and port host more than two thirds of the four million-plus tourists who visit The Bahamas annually.

It is also noteworthy to mention Paradise Island – a tourism epicentre located offshore New Providence - houses Atlantis resort, home to the largest open-air marine habitat in the world encompassing 14 lagoons and 8 million gallons of saltwater.
